Educational Concept
From CBA™ to MBA
The AVT educational concept consists of two major education programs; the CBA program and the MBA program. If you complete the CBA with good results you may continue onto the MBA program.
The CBA program has a duration of 6 months and starts twice a year: August and December.
The CBA and MBA programs are taught in small, efficient classes that support an interactive and effective learning environment. And the classes are held at the exclusive AVT Executive Center at Sankt Annæ Plads.

Philip Kotler on CBA You will also get a personal experience with the number one "guru" in Marketing, Professor Philip Kotler from Kellogg.
At the end of the CBA program we will kick-off the Strategic Project Assignment with a day on strategic models and thinking by Philip Kotler. And as part of the program Professor Philip Kotler will give a 3-hour guest-lecture via satellite/video live from Boston. |
The CBA program has uniquely been designed as a "Mini-MBA"
You may have an MBA in mind, but for at start the CBA program is most likely all you need - it has been designed as a "mini-MBA" giving you a self-contained education that you can put to immediate practical use. This is a unique design.
Take CBA and set a new direction for your company and career.
CBA is an exciting journey in the field of management which will give you a powerful toolbox in general management.
You can read the 8-page brochure in the online reader below, or download the pdf-file for saving and printing here.
Besides the monthly sessions in Copenhagen, you will work with a unique e-learning program called "Developing as a a Leader" and "The Harvard Manage Mentor" and travel to Cambridge, USA, to visit MIT, the Harvard Faculty Club at Harvard University and Harvard Business School (See the photos from the September 2008 Study Tour). Also, at the end of the program, you will test your skills and compete in groups in the challenging 2-day management simulation exercise "The Protean Strategist."
Immediately use what you learn
But best of all, the new knowledge and insights will be of immediate use in your daily work. You will write projects based on your own challenges at work and apply your new skills and use the new tools.
And as a bonus you will have a new network of highly capable managers to draw upon - just like they will be drawing upon you.
CBA has a duration of 6 months and starts in August and December each year and comprise 8 modules and a Strategic Project Assignment.
Before you start, you will participate in two Preparatory Courses, which will prepare you for the study and ensure that you get the most out of the teachings on the CBA.

We have designed the CBA program as s self-contained "Mini-MBA." This is an important design issue as certificates are normally "just" the first module of an MBA program, where the real overview and elements like competition and strategy are not introduced until much further down the road - often at the end of the full MBA program.
The decision about embarking on the CBA / MBA journey is a serious one. It will be a demanding - but also enriching and fun - journey. You may want to read the words from our Dean on why you should study and what you can expect.

Balance demands of studies, work, and family
You can complete the MBA right after you graduate from the CBA program; pause up to three years between the CBA and MBA programs; or decide to stop after the CBA graduation.
Our educational concept gives you the opportunity to balance the demands of studies, work, and family.
And to develop your career in natural steps synchronized with the new knowledge you acquire on the CBA and MBA programs.
Life Long Learning and networking - Certificate for Leaders
AVT also offers several life long learning opportunities. Some are offered via our Alumni Business Network as 1 or 2-day Master Classes, and some - like the Certificate for Leaders - are available as open enrolment programs. The Certificate for Leaders is an intensive certificate program for leaders. The program duration is three months. We define the content of our life long learning series in close cooperation with our Alumni Board.
